Lifetime measurements of odd-parity high-excitation levels of Sn I by time-resolved laser spectroscopy

چکیده
Natural radiative lifetimes of 38 odd-parity highly excited levels in neutral tin in the energy range from 43 682.737 to 56 838.68 cm−1 have been measured by a time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence technique in an atomic beam produced by laser ablation on a solid tin sample. All the levels were excited from the metastable P1,2 and D2 levels in the ground configuration. The second and third harmonics of a dye laser were adopted as the tunable exciting source (207–250 nm). The lifetime results obtained in this paper are in the range from 4.6 to 292 ns and will be useful in extending the set of oscillator strengths available in Sn I.

Radiative lifetimes in Co I
New radiative-lifetime measurements based on time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence are reported for 133 odd-parity and 2 even-parity levels of Co I, ranging in energy from 28 300 to 59 400 cm–1. Our lifetimes agree with earlier, but much less extensive, lifetime measurements based on laser-induced fluorescence. Satisfactory agreement is also found with the critical compilation of atomic tran...
متن کاملExperimental lifetime determination in neutral praseodymium (Pr I) and neodymium (Nd I)
Radiative lifetime measurements have been performed, with a time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence technique, for 18 even-parity levels of Pr I and 15 odd-parity levels of Nd I. The new results are compared with the few experimental data available in the literature and good agreement is found. However, fragmentary knowledge of the spectra prevents reliable calculation of branching fractions a...

Fluorescence measurements are easily made with the aid of a cryogenic fiber optic probe. Emission wavelength time matrixes, excitation emission matrixes, and time-resolved excitation emission matrixes are rapidly collected with a pulsed tunable dye laser, a spectrograph, and an intensified charged-coupled device. Compound identification is based on spectral and lifetime information. The potenti...
متن کاملTime-resolved laser spectroscopy of multiply ionized atoms: natural radiative lifetimes in Ce IV.
Radiative lifetimes have been measured for two excited levels of Ce IV using the time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence technique. Ce3+ ions were produced in a laser-induced plasma. In the measurements, a suitable magnetic field was applied to reduce the recombination between electrons and the ions and thus the background light from the recombination, and special care was exercised to avoid f...
متن کاملStudy the Effect of Silicon Nanowire Length on Characteristics of Silicon Nanowire Based Solar Cells by Using Impedance Spectroscopy
Silicon nanowire (SiNW) arrays were produced by electroless method on polycrystalline Si substrate, in HF/ AgNO3 solution. Although the monocrystalline silicon wafer is commonly utilized as a perfect substrate, polycrystalline silicon as a low cost substrate was used in this work for photovoltaic applications. In order to study the influence of etching time (which affects the SiNWs length) on d...
